Favorite Recent Purchases

This past weekend we went to Kansas City for a little getaway and a shopping trip! Our main goal was to get things for the house, boy how that turned downhill real quick! We were wanting to get our kitchen cabinets from Ikea as we did for the current house we are in. We didn't want to spend much and love how these have held up! Basically their bigger furniture pieces are on backorder due to the lower manufacturing due to COVID:( SO we are on to plan B, because we really do not want to wait until June/July. We hope to be moved in by June! But the girls and I had a great time doing some shopping! I wanted to share some of my favorite recent purchases, some of which I got in KC!

The first one I actually ordered a week ago and and it came in when we were in KC. It is a sweater blazer from JCrew and wow, what a great buy! I was wearing my mom outfit, joggers and a sweatshirt and threw that on to just try it on and it completely transformed my blah outfit! Highly recommend, it comes in so many beautiful colors! I love the color I have the steel grey, it's such a soft grey color! I would love the camel one too if I didn't already own too many camel pieces! Ok the sizing is a bit confusing, I ordered it in an xs because of the reviews saying it ran big. The xs fit perfect, but I also think the small would've been good too. So if you are in doubt just order your normal size.

My half zip pullover I did get in KC at The Gap and I love it. It is on major sale right now, 40% off plus an additional 10% off! I was debating between the small and medium, it is a cropped fit. So I have to wear it with high waisted jeans or pants, which is pretty much everything I wear these days. I went with the small because the only thing I noticed was that the sleeve was longer and wider in the medium, not much if any added length. Perfect to throw on with shorts and sandals too! Use code Friend and code Family for both discounts!

To go with my outfit, the New Balance sneakers. The retro sneaker is crazy right now. That is one trend I can get with because I wear sneakers all the time, so I know I will wear them out before the trend dies! I love this neutral color, it will go with everything. I did have to go up a whole size and they are only $80!

I know we are taking some vacations this summer, we are just itching to get away! I found this really cute travel set. I knew I needed to update my clear travel pouches and I loved the tan leather details. But much to my surprise, the passport holder is amazing! I used it as a wallet when we went to KC and it is perfect for cards, ID, receipts and the pen writes really nice! This entire set is only $38, perfect little gift for graduation!

The tan color is just gorgeous! The passport holder has a magnetic closure too!

The straw bags are really popular during the spring and summer. I found this one at H&M for only $25. It actually looks like straw, but it is a really nice fabric, so it won't catch or snag anything. Can be used as a clutch or it has a nice silver chain for a strap! I love the details and the color! It will be a great addition if I can get a beach vacation booked!

Also for that beach vacation I got this new swimsuit! I didn't get any new swimsuits last year and Ava ended up taking some of mine. So I have gotten a couple this year. I actually have this style swimsuit in two other colors I love it so much. I have had a navy and a beige one for years, it really is the one I grab for all the time. It is comfy, covers well, full backside coverage and the rouching around the mid section is perfect. I saw this leopard one go on sale and got it! I love the print! I do have a size 4 in these suits. I honestly do not remember if I ever tried a size 2, I just keep buying the size 4 and it seems to work perfect. And not gonna lie, I am no where near swimsuit ready, so you get a flat lay picture of it;) Pictures to come when it warms up and I have to paint my toe nails!

Lastly, Ava found her 8th grade graduation dress and she was so excited!! She loved ALtard' State, the store she found it at! She had so much fun, it is so sad to see them grow up! I also found a dress there, I haven't decided if it will be for Easter, First Communion or some other event! Both dresses fit true to size! They would also be great dresses for a bride to be!

Have a great Wednesday!!
