Vanity Makeover

Updated: Nov 11, 2020

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! Did another spring clean out with my vanity! So when we moved to a smaller house, with one functional bathroom, I lost my space for all my makeup, hair and skincare. I was creative and used an old dresser that I had repainted for my new personal area where I would get ready. Well it was working, for the most part. The drawers would never close right, my handle broke and I couldn't even open or close it completely. I knew it was time for an update. I wanted a desk that I could sit at and searched and found this one from Pottery Barn, the Leona desk. I loved the feminine look of it with the glass and brass. I got it for a steal and I saved by having it shipped to the store! It is very sturdy and so pretty!

I had previously had these glass shadow boxes from West Elm with my old dresser. I had no idea where to store my glasses and sunglasses with easy access, so I put them in these pretty boxes and they are easy for me to grab on the way out the door and they don't get dusty. I also got a small one for my jewelry that I use all the time. All the special pieces that Nate has given me:) Just showcases everything and dresses it up!

I love the way people have their makeup brushes sitting on their vanity in a cup or empty candle jar, but since I do not wear makeup everyday, I wanted to keep mine covered in a drawer. I didn't want any of the acrylic drawers because that would have just been too much with the glass desk. So, I found this letter storage box from The Container Store, I love how it holds all my brushes and extra beauty products and they don't get dusty!

My makeup caddy is from Target and holds my most used makeup products and skincare, so I can grab it easily. All the compartments are perfect and get put to good use!

This gold tray is old, but I had gotten it from West Elm and it now holds all my hair items and keeps everything in one place!

I love my Simplehuman mirror, it's wireless and just needs charged every once in awhile, yay for no cords! I guess I should say I have a love/hate realtionship with it, lol! Dang it shows everything!! Every little hair, lol!

And finally my little stool:) I had gotten this from CB2, I love how it balances out the feminine of the glass and brass from the desk and adds a little masculine with the leather.

I just love when things come together and makes getting ready a little more enjoyable! Hope you all enjoy your week!! Thanks for following along!
